The Netherlands are an Associate Member of the ICC, a status they have held since 1966, and they are governed by the Royal Dutch Cricket Association, known in Dutch as the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB). The association traces back to a national body first formed in 1883, with the royal Koninklijke prefix added in 1958. The Netherlands played their first men's T20 International on 2 August 2008 against Kenya at Stormont in Belfast.

The Netherlands own one of the sport's most famous upsets. On 5 June 2009 they beat England by four wickets in the opening match of the ICC World Twenty20 at Lord's. They won the ICC Trophy in 2001 and have qualified for the 50 over Cricket World Cup five times, in 1996, 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2023.

The Netherlands' home international grounds include the VRA Cricket Ground in Amsterdam, located in the suburb of Amstelveen and the most regular venue for ODIs and T20Is, the Hazelaarweg Stadion in Rotterdam, and Sportpark Westvliet in The Hague.

Scott Edwards captains the Netherlands across both ODIs and T20Is. A wicketkeeper batter who qualifies through Dutch ancestry, he has led the side since 2022 and captained the team at the 2023 Cricket World Cup and the 2024 and 2026 T20 World Cups.

For international fans, the Netherlands' standard home start time of 11:00 CEST converts to 10:00 BST in London, 05:00 EDT in New York, and 19:00 AEST in Sydney. Check Netherlands time for live conversions.
