Scotland are an Associate Member of the ICC, granted that status in 1994, and governed by Cricket Scotland. The body was founded in 1908 as the Scottish Cricket Union and was renamed Cricket Scotland in 2001 after a restructuring. Scotland played their first One Day International on 16 May 1999 against Australia at New Road, Worcester, and their first Twenty20 International on 12 September 2007 against Pakistan at Kingsmead in Durban.

Scotland have yet to win an ICC global title. As an Associate nation their honours come from qualification and progress rather than trophies. They have reached three 50-over World Cups, in 1999, 2007 and 2015, and have appeared at seven men's T20 World Cups, including the 2026 edition. Their best showing at a T20 World Cup came in 2021, when they advanced beyond the first round into the Super 12 stage.

Scotland stage home internationals at several grounds across the country. The Grange Club in Edinburgh is the primary venue, supported by Titwood in Glasgow, Mannofield Park in Aberdeen and Forthill in Dundee.

Richie Berrington captains Scotland across both white-ball formats. He led the side at the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, having taken over the captaincy in 2022, and remains Scotland's most experienced international leader.

Home internationals at The Grange in Edinburgh typically start at 11:00 local time. During British Summer Time that is 10:00 GMT in London, 06:00 EDT in New York and 20:00 AEST in Sydney. Check the full schedule in your own timezone, and see Scotland time for current local conditions.
