The United Arab Emirates are an Associate Member of the ICC, admitted as an Affiliate Member in 1989 and elevated to Associate Member status in 1990. Cricket in the country is governed by the Emirates Cricket Board, based in Abu Dhabi. The UAE played their first One Day International on 13 April 1994 against India at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and their first Twenty20 International on 17 March 2014 against the Netherlands at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. As an Associate nation they do not hold Test status.

The UAE have yet to win an ICC title. Their best results have come through qualification rather than silverware. They reached the ICC Cricket World Cup in 1996 and again in 2015, and they have appeared at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2014, 2022, and 2026. The route to the 2022 edition in Australia ran through the Global Qualifier in Oman, where they beat Ireland in the final to book a place in the first round alongside Sri Lanka, Namibia, and the Netherlands.

The UAE's home international grounds are the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, and the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Muhammad Waseem captains the UAE in T20Is and was named to lead the side at the 2026 T20 World Cup. Rahul Chopra, a wicketkeeper batter, captains the UAE ODI side.

The UAE observes Gulf Standard Time at UTC+4 year round with no daylight saving. Check United Arab Emirates time for live conversions.
