Venue Guide

Lord’s Cricket Ground, known universally as the Home of Cricket, has been the spiritual centre of the sport since 1814. Located in St John’s Wood, London, the 30,000-capacity ground is owned by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and serves as the headquarters of English cricket. The famous Victorian-era pavilion, the Media Centre designed by Future Systems, and the iconic slope that runs across the outfield from the Grandstand side to the Mound Stand make Lord’s one of the most recognizable sporting venues on earth.

Lord’s has hosted more historic matches than any other cricket ground. It was the venue for the first-ever Test match played in England (1884), has hosted 5 ICC World Cup finals, and was the site of the 2025 ICC World Test Championship Final where South Africa defeated Australia. The ground’s honours board, which records every century and five-wicket haul scored in a Test match at the venue, is considered the most prestigious individual achievement board in cricket.

In 2026, Lord’s hosts the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on July 5 and serves as home ground for London Spirit in The Hundred, with the competition final also at Lord’s on August 16. The England vs Pakistan Test series brings the 2nd Test to Lord’s from August 27 to 31. The ground also hosts the England vs New Zealand 1st Test from June 4 to 8.

Lord’s operates on British Summer Time (BST, UTC+1) during the cricket season. A 10:30 BST start for Test cricket is 04:30 in New York, 15:00 in India, and 19:30 in Sydney.
