Group C · FIFA World Cup 2026
Scotland last appeared at a World Cup in 1998, and the return in 2026 is the moment an entire generation of Scottish fans has waited for. All three Group C matches take place in the Eastern US, and with Scotland on Europe/London (UTC+1 in British Summer Time), the schedule creates late evening kickoffs back home.
The first Group C match is June 13 in Boston against Haiti, with a 21:00 Eastern kickoff. In Edinburgh and Glasgow that is 02:00 the following morning. Scottish fans are famously resilient, but 02:00 requires serious commitment.
The second match on June 19 is also in Boston against Morocco, starting at 18:00 Eastern. In Scotland that is 23:00. Far more civilized.
The third group game is June 24 in Miami against Brazil, kicking off at 18:00 Eastern. That is 23:00 in Scotland.
The Tartan Army has a global following, and Scottish diaspora communities in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States number in the millions. For Scots in New York and Boston, the matches are perfectly timed. For those in Sydney, a 18:00 Eastern kickoff means 08:00 the following morning in Australia, a reasonable breakfast-time match.
Scotland hosting group stage watch parties in Edinburgh pubs will require venues willing to stay open until 02:00 for the Brazil match, but the Tartan Army needs little encouragement.
