6 Hours of Imola

The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari at Imola is one of Europe's most storied racing venues, a 4.909-kilometre anti-clockwise circuit nestled in the Emilia-Romagna hills roughly 40 kilometres east of Bologna. Its 19 corners include the iconic Tamburello, rebuilt after the tragedies of 1994, and the sweeping Acque Minerali complex that tests car balance through a sequence of fast direction changes. The track's narrow layout and limited overtaking opportunities place enormous weight on strategy and qualifying pace, making it a true driver's circuit where precision matters more than raw power.

The 6 Hours of Imola opened the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship season on April 19, stepping in as Round 1 after the planned season opener in Qatar was postponed due to the regional security situation in the Middle East. The race drew a large crowd to the Emilia-Romagna circuit, an impressive attendance for an endurance event that had not featured regularly on the WEC calendar in recent years.

Toyota Racing took victory with the #8 TR010 Hybrid of Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa, the car's debut win under the revised TR010 name following Toyota's winter rebranding from GR010. The #51 Ferrari of Antonio Giovinazzi, James Calado, and Alessandro Pier Guidi followed in second, while the sister #7 Toyota completed an all-Toyota top three.

Genesis Magma Racing also made its WEC competition debut at Imola, fielding two GMR-001 Hypercars as the first Korean constructor ever to enter the series. The team set modest targets for the season opener, focused on finishing cleanly and building race experience, and fulfilled that goal with both cars taking the chequered flag.
