6 Hours of Interlagos

The Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, universally known as Interlagos, occupies a hillside in the south of Sao Paulo between two large artificial reservoirs, Guarapiranga and Billings, which gave the neighbourhood and the circuit their common name: "between lakes." The circuit measures 4.309 kilometres with 15 corners and runs anti-clockwise, a relatively rare direction in world motorsport. Its combination of elevation changes, narrow sections, and a long pitstraight creates an intense driving environment where the Descida do Lago sweeper and the Senna S at the entry to the complex are defining challenges. The track was renamed following his death in 1977 in honour of Brazilian Formula 1 driver Jose Carlos Pace, who died in a plane crash and had won his home Grand Prix at the circuit in 1975.

The Rolex 6 Hours of Sao Paulo is Round 4 of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship, held on July 12 at Interlagos. The Brazilian round has been part of the WEC calendar for several seasons, bringing the Hypercar class to one of South America's most passionate motorsport markets. Sao Paulo's crowd support for endurance racing is genuine and vocal, and the circuit's compact layout means spectators can see large sections of the track from a single vantage point.

The July timing places the race in Sao Paulo's southern hemisphere winter, when daytime temperatures are typically mild by the city's standards and afternoon showers are less frequent than in the Brazilian summer. This generally produces more consistent conditions than the circuit's Formula 1 date in November, though the unpredictable microclimate of the Interlagos valley means weather can still play a strategic role. Heading into Round 4, the championship picture should be considerably clearer after the two European rounds and Le Mans, and teams with ground to make up will be looking to Interlagos as an opportunity to shift momentum before the season's second half.
