About the PLL
The Premier Lacrosse League was founded in 2018 by Paul Rabil and his brother Mike Rabil, with its inaugural season launching in June 2019. It merged with Major League Lacrosse (MLL) in 2020, consolidating professional outdoor lacrosse in North America under one organization. The league features 8 teams split into Eastern and Western conferences, competing across US cities from May through September.
PLL games use a shot clock (52 seconds for first possessions, 32 after a reset) and a two-point arc, both introduced to speed up play. Each game consists of four 12-minute quarters. The regular season runs 13 weeks, with weekend doubleheader events in different cities, followed by a playoff bracket in August and the championship in September.
All PLL games are broadcast on ESPN networks. Weekend doubleheaders appear on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2, with additional coverage on ESPN+. The league's touring model brings games to major stadiums across the US rather than assigning permanent home venues to each team.
What time do PLL games start? Most games kick off between 13:00 and 19:00 in the local US timezone. Times on this page auto-convert to your timezone. A 19:00 EDT start translates to midnight in London, 01:00 in Berlin, and 08:00 the next morning in Tokyo.
