Angel Yin is an American professional golfer born on October 3, 1998, in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in the greater Los Angeles area and attended Arcadia High School before turning professional in 2016. She competes primarily on the LPGA Tour and has represented the United States at three Solheim Cups (2017, 2019, and 2023), carrying a career record of 5 wins, 3 losses, and 1 halve across those appearances.
Yin established herself as a prodigious talent long before turning professional, winning the California Women's Amateur Championship at age 12 and again at 14, and becoming the youngest player in the field at the 2012 U.S. Women's Open. She earned her first professional win on the Ladies European Tour at the 2017 Omega Dubai Ladies Classic. Her breakthrough on the LPGA Tour came at the 2023 Buick LPGA Shanghai, where she defeated Lilia Vu in a playoff for her first LPGA title. She followed that with a runner-up finish at the 2023 Chevron Championship, one of the women's majors. Yin's second LPGA win arrived at the 2025 Honda LPGA Thailand at Siam Country Club, where she posted a tournament-record 28-under-par total of 260 and held off Japan's Akie Iwai by a single stroke in a tight final round. Her major championship record also includes a T2 at the 2019 U.S. Women's Open and a T4 at the 2018 Women's PGA Championship.
Yin is noted for a powerful swing and a competitor's disposition that keeps her composed in pressure situations. She closed the 2025 Honda LPGA Thailand with a final-round 65 to seal the victory. Observers have described her as a grinder whose competitive edge defines how she wins, rather than coasting on comfort. Her candid personality and social media presence have also drawn a following beyond traditional golf audiences.
