Truist Championship

The 2026 Truist Championship takes place at Quail Hollow Club in south Charlotte, North Carolina from May 7 to 10, with a 72-player no-cut field competing for a $20 million purse in the Eastern Daylight Time zone (UTC-4). As a PGA Tour Signature Event, every player in the field is guaranteed earnings.

Quail Hollow has been a PGA Tour venue since 2003, when the event debuted as the Wachovia Championship. The club was founded in 1959 by James J. Harris and opened its George Cobb-designed course on June 3, 1961. Over the decades the layout has been toughened and refined, and the closing stretch known as the Green Mile, holes 16 through 18, has become one of the most feared finishes in professional golf. The par-4 18th, a dogleg left with water guarding the green, has decided tournaments in regulation and in playoffs. The course hosted the PGA Championship in 2017, when Justin Thomas claimed his first major, and again in 2025. The Presidents Cup came to Quail Hollow in 2022.

Rory McIlroy owns Quail Hollow more than any active player, with four career victories at the club. His 2010 final-round 62, a masterclass in iron play through the Green Mile, remains one of the great closing rounds in PGA Tour history. Scottie Scheffler, the world number one, arrives as the favorite in any field he enters. Xander Schauffele, Viktor Hovland, and Collin Morikawa round out a field that reflects the Signature Event's elevated status.
