Brian Harman is an American professional golfer from Savannah, Georgia, born January 19, 1987. He plays primarily on the PGA Tour. A left-handed player standing just 5 feet 7 inches tall, Harman earned the nickname "The Butcher" for his precise, methodical approach to dissecting golf courses. His headline achievement is the 2023 The Open Championship, where he claimed the Claret Jug at Royal Liverpool with a score of -13, winning by six strokes in one of the most dominant major performances in recent memory.

Harman turned professional in 2009 after graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in Finance. He recorded his first PGA Tour win at the 2014 John Deere Classic, then added the 2017 Wells Fargo Championship the same year he finished runner-up at the U.S. Open. He ended a lengthy drought in spectacular fashion at The 2023 The Open Championship, becoming only the third left-handed player to win The Open Championship after Bob Charles and Phil Mickelson, and the fifth left-handed major champion in history. He followed that up by winning the 2025 Valero Texas Open, bringing his PGA Tour win total to four.

Harman's game is built on accuracy rather than distance. He is consistently among the tour leaders in driving accuracy and scrambling, and his putting is the foundation of his best performances. He rarely overwhelms a course with length off the tee but neutralises that disadvantage through precise iron play and an exceptional short game. His 2023 Open week at Royal Liverpool saw him deliver a performance that showcased exactly why he is a dangerous contender whenever conditions reward control over power. In the 2026 season he recorded a T11 at THE PLAYERS Championship as major season approaches.
