Chanettee Wannasaen, nicknamed "Proud," was born on April 16, 2004, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She plays on the LPGA Tour and, as of the end of 2025, was ranked 54th in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings. Her career to date spans the LPGA Tour, the Epson Tour, the LET Access Series, and the Thai LPGA Tour, and she became one of the most talked-about young players in women's golf after a breakthrough that few could have scripted.

Wannasaen turned professional in 2021 and spent 2022 building her foundation, winning six tournaments in Thailand and adding a title at the Trust Golf Links Series on the LET Access Series. She secured her LPGA Tour card for 2023 by finishing T-6 at the LPGA Q-Series. Her first full LPGA season produced one of the tour's most memorable moments: in September 2023, she entered the Portland Classic as a Monday qualifier and proceeded to win by four strokes at 26-under-par, becoming only the third Monday qualifier ever to win on the LPGA Tour and the first since Brooke Henderson in 2015. The victory rocketed her ranking from 367th to 52nd in the world. She followed that in July 2024 with a second LPGA title at the Dana Open in Sylvania, Ohio, closing out a one-stroke win over Haeran Ryu at 20-under-par. Her 2024 season also saw her cross $1 million in earnings for the first time.

Her best result at a women's major came at the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, where she tied for second place, three strokes behind champion Minjee Lee. That finish confirmed her standing as a genuine contender at the highest level of the game. Her game is built around ball-striking consistency and the ability to put together very low rounds; her Portland victory included a final-round 63, and she has shown the capacity to separate from the field when her scoring is on.
