Charley Esmee Hull was born on 20 March 1996 in Kettering, Northamptonshire, England. She competes on both the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour, and reached a career-high Rolex Women's World Golf Ranking of number three in February 2026, becoming the first Englishwoman to reach the top five since the rankings were introduced in 2006. That milestone came immediately after her victory at the PIF Saudi Ladies International, where a final-round 65 gave her a one-shot win and confirmed her status among the world's elite players.

Hull turned professional in 2013 after a standout amateur career that included a Ladies Golf Union Championship title at age nine, a Curtis Cup appearance for Great Britain and Ireland in 2012, and a Junior Solheim Cup call-up in 2011. She was named LET Rookie of the Year in 2013 after posting ten top-ten finishes, including a debut Solheim Cup appearance as the tournament's youngest ever competitor. Her first LET title followed at the 2014 Lalla Meryem Cup, and she added her first LPGA victory at the 2016 CME Group Tour Championship. She has built a record of nine professional wins across the LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour. She has finished runner-up at four women's majors -- the 2016 ANA Inspiration, the 2023 U.S. Women's Open, the 2023 Women's British Open, and the 2025 Women's British Open.

Hull is known for an attacking game built around powerful driving and an appetite for risk. Fellow English professional Laura Davies has drawn a direct comparison between their styles, noting that Hull "gets her driver out on pretty much every hole, goes for pins and isn't scared of messing things up." That fearlessness has made her one of the most watchable players on tour and a reliable performer for European Solheim Cup teams, where she carries a winning record across seven appearances.
