Doug Ghim

Doug Ghim is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Born on April 16, 1996, he grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He attended the University of Texas, where he won the Ben Hogan Award in 2018 as the best collegiate golfer in the country. As of mid-2026, Ghim sits outside the top 150 in the Official World Golf Ranking, competing week to week on the PGA Tour without a full exemption category win to his name.

Ghim arrived on the professional scene with significant amateur credentials. He reached the final of the 2017 U.S. Amateur and was a member of the victorious United States side at the 2017 Walker Cup. Those results earned him starts in the 2018 Masters Tournament and U.S. Open as an amateur; at Augusta he finished tied for 50th and claimed low amateur honours, the highest-profile amateur finish of his career. In May 2018 he reached No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, then turned professional that summer. He earned his PGA Tour card through the Korn Ferry Tour for the 2019-20 season. His closest professional result to a victory came at the 2024 Shriners Children's Open, where he finished runner-up.

Ghim's game is built on ball-striking, particularly his approach play. Putting has been the persistent gap in his game, a combination that has produced consistent cuts made but no wins. He recorded a tied-35th finish at the 2024 PGA Championship and was in the field for the 2026 edition at Aronimink.
