Haeran Ryu is a South Korean professional golfer from Geumjeong-myeon, Yeongam-gun, in South Jeolla Province. She plays primarily on the LPGA Tour. Still only 25 years old, she has established herself as one of the most consistent players on the women's professional circuit, with three LPGA Tour titles.
Ryu first attracted attention in the amateur ranks by winning the 2018 Korean Women's Amateur and representing South Korea at the 2018 Asian Games. She turned professional in 2019 and wasted little time on the KLPGA Tour, winning the Jeju Samdasoo Masters in her first professional season and defending that title in 2020, the year she was named KLPGA Rookie of the Year. She added three further KLPGA victories through 2022, accumulating five wins on the Korea tour before earning her LPGA Tour card by winning the 2022 LPGA Q-Series as medalist. In her LPGA debut season of 2023 she produced one of the year's memorable back-nine charges, shooting a 29 on the back nine at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship for her first LPGA title, then closed the year as LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year. She followed that with a second tour win, the 2024 FM Championship, and in May 2025 won the Black Desert Championship by five shots.
Her game is built on length off the tee, a precise iron game and composure under pressure. At the 2025 Chevron Championship, the first women's major of the year, she shared the first-round lead at 7 under par and contended through the weekend before finishing tied sixth. She has posted top-10 finishes at the U.S. Women's Open and the Evian Championship, demonstrating she is competitive across major venues.
