Hye-Jin Choi (Korean: 최혜진) was born on August 23, 1999, in Gimhae, in the South Gyeongsang province of South Korea. She competes primarily on the LPGA Tour, which she joined in 2022 after earning her card through qualifying school, and she continues to play on the LPGA of Korea Tour.

Choi's talent was apparent long before she turned professional. As an amateur she won the 2015 World Junior Girls Championship both individually and as part of the South Korean team, claimed the 2016 Canadian Women's Amateur title, and was low amateur at the 2016 U.S. Women's Open. Her most striking early result came at the 2017 U.S. Women's Open, where, at seventeen years old, she finished runner-up. She turned professional in August 2017 and went on to dominate the LPGA of Korea Tour, winning five times in 2019 and finishing that season as its leading money winner. She has accumulated thirteen professional victories, the majority on the Korea Tour.

Since joining the LPGA Tour full time, Choi has built a reputation as one of the circuit's most consistent ball-strikers. Her 2025 season was her strongest in the majors, with top-ten finishes at the Chevron Championship (tied ninth), the U.S. Women's Open (tied fourth), and the KPMG Women's PGA Championship (tied eighth). Despite those results and a consistent record of making cuts, an LPGA Tour title remains her primary goal as of mid-2026.
