Karl Vilips is a 24-year-old Australian professional golfer competing on the PGA Tour. Born in Jakarta, Indonesia on 16 August 2001, he was raised in Perth, Western Australia. He attended Stanford University from 2021 to 2024, where he competed for the Stanford Cardinal men's golf team and won the Pac-12 Championship in his senior year. He turned professional in 2024.

Vilips was introduced to golf as a toddler by his father Paul, who began documenting his development on a YouTube channel from around age seven, earning Karl the nickname the "original YouTube golfer." His amateur career produced standout results: he claimed gold in the boys' individual event at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, and represented the International team at the 2017 Junior Presidents Cup. After joining the Korn Ferry Tour in 2024, he was runner-up at the NV5 Invitational, won the Utah Championship, and was named Korn Ferry Tour Rookie of the Year before earning his PGA Tour card. At the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow he played his first major as a professional.

Vilips announced himself on the PGA Tour in decisive fashion at the 2025 Puerto Rico Open, shooting a final-round 64 to finish at 26-under par, three strokes clear of the field and five shots below the previous tournament record. The win came in only his fourth career start, yielded a two-year Tour exemption, and secured a spot in that year's PLAYERS Championship. His exemption qualifies him for major championship fields at Aronimink for the PGA Championship and Shinnecock Hills for the U.S. Open.
