Mackenzie Hughes is a Canadian professional golfer from Hamilton, Ontario, born on November 23, 1990. He plays primarily on the PGA Tour and has been a consistent presence on the circuit for nearly a decade. A graduate of Kent State University, Hughes is known as a grinder who earns results through course management and a reliable putting stroke rather than raw power. He has appeared in the 2026 PGA Championship field at Aronimink.

Hughes charted one of the most complete development paths in professional golf. He won the Canadian Amateur in both 2011 and 2012 before turning professional. On PGA Tour Canada he took the Cape Breton Celtic Classic in 2013 and topped the Order of Merit that same year to earn a Korn Ferry Tour card. He graduated to the PGA Tour after winning on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2016. His first PGA Tour title came in only his fifth start as a member, when he led wire-to-wire at the 2016 RSM Classic, defeating four players in a playoff. He added a second title at the 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship, again winning in a playoff, over Sepp Straka. His best performance in a major came at the 2021 Open Championship, where he finished tied sixth, the finest major result by a Canadian at that event. He represented Canada at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Hughes's game is built on steadiness. He generates solid yardage off the tee without relying on exceptional length, and his most dependable asset is his putting, which ranks consistently among the stronger performers on tour. His strokes gained putting has been a career-long strength, and both of his tour victories were sealed on the greens when it mattered. His career high world ranking reached 39th in late 2020.
