Nicolai Højgaard is a Danish professional golfer from Billund, Denmark, born on 12 March 2001. He plays across both the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour, and sits at world number 28 in the Official World Golf Ranking as of May 2026. A powerful ball-striker, Højgaard has established himself as one of the most promising young Europeans in the game.
Højgaard turned professional in 2019 after a standout amateur career that included the 2018 European Amateur title and a key role in Denmark's victory at the 2018 Eisenhower Trophy. He claimed his first DP World Tour title at the DS Automobiles Italian Open in September 2021, a win made more remarkable by the fact that his twin brother Rasmus had won the previous week -- the first time two brothers won in back-to-back weeks on the European Tour. He added the Ras Al Khaimah Championship in February 2022, then delivered his biggest result to date at the DP World Tour Championship in November 2023, closing with a 64 to win by two strokes and claim his first Rolex Series title. He also contributed to Europe's 16.5-11.5 victory over the United States at the 2023 Ryder Cup.
His 2026 season has been encouraging, highlighted by a runner-up at the Truist Championship in May. He teed it up at the Masters at Augusta National and at the PGA Championship at Aronimink in 2026, with his best major finish to date being a T16 at the 2024 Masters.
