Rickie Fowler (born December 13, 1988) is an American professional golfer from Murrieta, California, competing full-time on the PGA Tour. He currently sits around 38th in the Official World Golf Ranking and is one of the more recognizable figures in the game, known partly for wearing orange on tournament Sundays as a tribute to his alma mater Oklahoma State University. His best ranking was fourth in the world, reached in January 2016.
Fowler reached the top of the world amateur rankings for 36 weeks in 2007 and 2008 before turning professional in 2009 following the Walker Cup. He won PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2010 and has since collected six PGA Tour victories: the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship, the 2015 PLAYERS Championship and Deutsche Bank Championship, the 2017 Honda Classic, the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open, and the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic. He has also won twice on the European Tour, including the 2015 Scottish Open. In 2014, he finished in the top five at all four men's majors -- The Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open, and The Open Championship -- making him the first player in history to finish top five at all four majors in the same calendar year without winning one. His closest individual major runs include runner-up finishes at the 2018 Masters and the 2014 U.S. Open and Open Championship, along with a third-place finish at the 2014 PGA Championship. He has represented the United States in five Ryder Cups (2010, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2023).
In 2026, Fowler missed the Masters field but qualified for the PGA Championship at Aronimink through the points standings, finishing T60. He is also listed among those qualified for The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. Heading into the summer he has posted four top-ten finishes on Tour in 2026, with his strokes-gained numbers trending upward after a difficult stretch that had seen him miss several major fields.
