Mathieu Jaminet is a French racing driver who joins the #19 Genesis GMR-001 for Genesis Magma Racing in the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship alongside Paul-Loup Chatin and Daniel Juncadella. He spent the previous years as a Porsche factory driver, winning the GT Masters title in 2018 and the IMSA GTD Pro title in 2022. Most recently, he claimed the 2025 IMSA GTP championship alongside Matt Campbell in the #6 Porsche Penske 963, completing a clean sweep of North American and European endurance honours before departing the brand.
His move from Porsche to Genesis was significant for both sides. Jaminet described leaving as a difficult personal decision after nearly a decade with the manufacturer. For Genesis, signing a reigning IMSA champion brought instant credibility to a brand new Hypercar programme entering its first WEC season in 2026.
Alongside veterans like André Lotterer in the sister #17 Genesis, Jaminet's IMSA experience feeds directly into the team's learning curve on a different technical platform and on circuits including Le Mans. The 2026 Le Mans 24 Hours is Genesis' debut at the race in the Hypercar class, making it a landmark event for every driver in the programme, Jaminet included.
