Pipo Derani

Pipo Derani is a Brazilian racing driver who competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Genesis Magma Racing, sharing the #17 Genesis GMR-001 with Mathys Jaubert and Andre Lotterer. One of the first drivers named to the new Genesis Hypercar programme, he was appointed as a lead development driver for the GMR-001 alongside Lotterer as the car was prepared for its 2026 WEC debut.

Derani won the 2021 IMSA DPi class championship alongside Felipe Nasr with Action Express Racing and Cadillac, and claimed overall victories at the 2016 24 Hours of Daytona and the 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2023 12 Hours of Sebring. After six seasons with Action Express, he moved to Genesis ahead of 2026 in search of a new programme.

The Genesis Magma Racing team debuted at the 2026 season opener in Imola, becoming part of WEC's most competitive Hypercar grid in the series' history. Derani's experience of leading a prototype programme from its development phase to race debut is central to the new Korean manufacturer's ambitions.
