Sébastien Bourdais is a French racing driver who shares the #38 Cadillac V-Series.R for Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA with Earl Bamber and Jack Aitken in the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship. Born in Le Mans, he is one of the most accomplished American open-wheel drivers of his generation, having won four consecutive Champ Car World Series championships from 2004 to 2007 and recording 37 wins in that series. He also competed in Formula One for Toro Rosso across 2008 and part of 2009.
In endurance racing, Bourdais has won the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring. He has three times finished second overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, making the race a personal priority. After years in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with Chip Ganassi Racing, he joined the WEC Hypercar programme with Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, bringing deep sportscar expertise to the squad.
In 2026, Bourdais and Bamber return for a second season together with the #38 Cadillac. Racing at Le Mans with a competitive Hypercar gives Bourdais his clearest opportunity yet to convert his longstanding connection with the race into an overall win. He remains one of the most experienced and strategically astute drivers in the WEC field.
